Collaborative Law

What is the Collaborative Law process?

I am a trained collaborative lawyer. I am passionate about working with you to achieve outcomes which are of value to you, in a way which preserves your relationships.

A Collaborative Law process is best suited to couples who are focussed on negotiating out of court settlements, and are committed to sharing information with each other and working with professionals such as lawyers, accountants and child-centred professionals. It allows you to reach agreements tailored to your family.

It is different to a traditional legal process. Collaborative Law is run as a series of structured meetings with you, your lawyer, your partner, and other neutral professionals where required to provide guidance on financial matters or arrangements for the children.

Testimonials

“I had the pleasure of dealing with both Gavin and Jane during a very difficult time. Their help and advice with Retirement Village contracts and then guiding me through the processes of VCAT applications for my mother was invaluable. Jane was very attentive and understanding as I was caring for my dying brother and was unable to leave his side, she organised everything and gave me reassurance and confidence in what I was doing. She and Gavin also sent personal condolences, and then advised me and directed me to an appropriate solicitor to handle Probate for him. I feel very lucky to have come across such a great firm, their compassion, professionalism and competence is unsurpassed. I have no hesitation to highly recommend Bloom Family Law.”
